Update, 24 April, 2023
Shortly after receiving the sexual harassment allegation about the project lead in India, Turtle Survival Alliance hired independent counsel to perform an internal investigation to determine what the board members and management staff knew about any sexual harassment or assault in the India project, when we knew it, and what we did with that information. The investigation is ongoing, and we will take appropriate action following its completion.
The Turtle Survival Alliance believes transparency and accountability are the cornerstones to a healthy organization. To clarify our earlier statement, the Turtle Survival Alliance provides funding and technical advice to the India turtle program that is run and managed by WCS-India. The Turtle Survival Alliance continues our financial support and technical advice of WCS-India’s Turtle Program.
