Veterinary Cross-training at the TSC
by Heather Lowe
Sheena Koeth, the Veterinary Care Manager at the Turtle Survival Center (TSC), and a senior veterinary technician from the National Aquarium in Baltimore recently joined forces to share their knowledge of animal health. The two met at the 2014 Association of Zoo Veterinary Technicians conference in Jekyll Island, Georgia.
During her visit, Sarah McMillen (National Aquarium) was able to provide some training for Sheena on our new animal records software, Tracks. Additionally, Sheena was able to share her expertise on turtle conservation and the basics of reptile hematology. We'd like to thank the Aquarium for sending Sarah to the TSC and also thank Sarah for taking the initiative on this beneficial partnership!
